Presbyopia eye surgery

1. What convinced you to go through the surgery? And what made you to choose This Clinic?
I came originally to have touch up LASIK. The original treatment 13 years ago was no longer adequate. I was told by Dr. Kim that although it could be done, because of my age (59) it was unlikely to last more than a few years. He then recommend lens replacement with specially designed corrective lenses that would free me from glasses of all types for the rest of my life.

 2. Tell us about what has changed since you had your surgery. What are the major changes comparing your life before and after the surgery?

Immediately after the surgery that nighttime halos were pronounced and although very pretty were a bit distracting. I now hardly see them (brain compensation) and find my vision to be spectacular. Good wt both 12 inches for reading and distance up to 1000 feet. Fantastic!

3. Were there any inconveniences during the recovery process? And tell us about how satisfied you are with your newly improved vision.

No issues other than the normal discomfort. In the u.s. You cannot have two, eyes done on the same day due to tiny risk of contaminated facility causing infection in both eyes. Although not mentioned at the time, it seems a real possibility, although extremely rare. Since JOEUNNUN s such a clean , immaculate facility, I had no concerns.

4. What were the most valuable and rememberable experiences at Joeunnun Eye Clinic?

Friendly relaxed staff, professional nature of all, particularly Dr. Kim. Feeling the new lens slip into place was scary but incredible. In a matter of moments I could see!

5. Finally, what else do you want to tell us (our medical staffs, doctors, and nurses)? (Anything is OK including some of your wishes that may inform us to improve ourselves.)

When I returned after two months I would have preferred to be seen by dr. Kim to determine if I need the minor follow up laser treatment, I'm still not clear that I do need it but have been given conflicting opinions at JOEUNNUN and a doctor in my home area in Virginia, USA.

Overall,,very happy. The pricing was fair and reasonable and I would recommend it to my friends.
Aloha,'

Introduce about IPCL

                            Introduce about IPCL

10 % patients who want to have LASIK surgery can’t have LASIK surgery, because abnormal corneal shape or not enough corneal thickness for LASIK is found by screening test. We can provide better vision as LASIK for no LASIK candidate patients. This new methods name is implantable phakic contact lens (IPCL). These new surgery methods just lens implantation to posterior chamber, easy and can get better vision than LASIK surgery. This lens is also removable and safe. IPCL can treat for high myopia and astigmatism that can’t treat LASIK and hyperopia, and presbyopia. If you have high myopia over -6.0D, IPCL is the best choice for your treatment of high myopia.

Micheal's Refractive Lense Exchange surgery

1. What convinced you to go through with the surgery? And what made you choose this Clinic?
I had worked in Korea and knew people who had used Korean surgery before so felt confident with this. I looked on-line and read the different recommendations and also noted that a group, I belong to, mentioned your clinic  in their newsletter.
2. Tell us about what has changed since you had your surgery. What are the major changes, comparing your life before and now after, the surgery?

The major changes include being able to work better at my teaching job because I have clearer eyesight. I love being able to watch a show and see it all so clearly, (but, I don't like the fact that i can see all the lines on my face which were not so obvious to me before. I am really  so pleased to have done this surgery.
3. Were there any inconveniences during the recovery process? Tell us about how satisfied you are with your newly improved vision.

Any inconveniences were so minor, like wearing an eye patch for 4 hours, or remembering to use the eye drops, that they are not really worth mentioning. It was all worth it. I am more than satisfied with my new eyes.
4. What were the most valuable and memorable experiences at Joeunnun Eye Clinic?

The staff were all so very helpful and understanding. English was not a problem as Moon Joo and others had enough English to understand my needs (thank you). The surgeon was considerate and careful and explained the procedure, so i was not afraid.
5. Finally, what else do you want to tell us (our medical staff, doctors, and nurses)? Anything is OK, including some of your ideas that may help  us to improve ourselves.

You all did a very good job. The only suggestion I have is better instructions for finding your clinic. Your map is not clear to us foreigners and even when we asked some Chinese people to help they could not. I would suggest you draw a new map and add the MacDonald's location to it.  Also include that it is within 15 steps of exit 12 or something along these lines.

Thank you to the staff, including nurses, doctors and reception. You all helped make this a comfortable experience and I have recommended your clinic to friends.

The ZEISS AT LISA tri family offers the outstanding intermediate visual performance that can only be achieved with a real trifocal IOL design.
The superior intermediate vision with the ZEISS AT LISA tri family becomes evident when compared to an apodized bifocal IOL or a trifocal IOL with convolution design. With the ZEISS AT LISA tri family, patients experience enhanced contrast sensitivity resulting in better night vision. Moreover, they report less dysphotopsia and, due to quick neural adaptation*, they can enjoy the benefits of trifocal IOLs shortly after implantation.

In the end, the majority of patients do not need glasses in their daily lives. Spectacle independance after the AT LISA tri implantation reaches nearly
100 %.*

The referral rate for AT LISA tri IOLs from ZEISS is also very high: 97% of the patient treated with these lenses would recommend them to their families and friends; as shown in a recent Mexican study.*

what is presbyopia?

Presbyopia is a condition in which the eyes have difficulty in focusing on the nearby objects as people age. Our lens is the eyes automatically control the thickness to focus on the far and the close objects. However, when we reach 40, the flexibility of the lens decrease, it get thicker, and the ciliary body muscles get weaker. When this happens, the accommodation power decreases, so it gets difficult to look at the nearby objects.

All About Presbyopia - Age-Related Farsightedness

What is Presbyopia?

Presbyopia is defined as the loss of the eye's ability to change focus to see near objects. It is a vision disorder that develops as we age. This condition occurs at approximately 40 years of age. Everyone will eventually develop presbyopia.

Signs and Symptoms

The main symptom is the inability to focus on near objects, such as small print on a medicine bottle or in a phone book. Holding print out futher seems to make it easier to read. Patients may complain of needing more light to read, as contrasting ability decreases. Presbyopic eyes also feel fatigues and seem to tire more easily. Some presbyopic patients may also have fluctuating vision, as their eyes are attempting to overcompensate for vision deficit.

Causes

Presbyopia is caused by an age-related process. As we age, the lens inside the eye gradually loses its flexibility, making it harder to focus up close. Although it seems to come on suddenly in the early fories, in reality the eye slowly loses its near focusing power throughout life. Prespyopia worsens slowly to about the age of 65, when most reserve focusing power is lost.

Diagnosis

Diagnosis of presbyopia is made by undergoing a comprehensive eye examination. Your eye doctor will measure your amplitude of accomodation, or reserve near focusing power, and perform a simple refractive test to reveal the condition.

Treatment

There is no way to prevent presbyopia as it is a natural aging process, but it is easily treated. Your eye doctor may prescribe reading glasses, bifocals or progressive addition lenses to correct presbyopia. Patients may also decide to be corrected with certain contact lenses, such a multifocal and mono vision contactt lensees. Others may choose to undergo refractive surgical procedure, such as monovision laser vision correction (LASIK). Furthermore, multifocal intraocular lens implants are available to patients.

Kangnam Joeunnun Vision Clinic is 'Republic of Korea Custormer Satisfaction Brand Award 2015' in the ophthalmic division (presbyopia correction). The clinic provides a wide range of high-quality treatments for presbyopia from laser eye surgery to intraocular lens implants.
