Matthew from USA, Z2 Lasik surgery at Kangnam Joeunnun International Eye Center in Seoul, Korea

Matthew from USA, he has been wearing contact lens for a long time, and he knew about laser eye surgery such as lasik and lasek that could fix the refractive errors of his eyes as his brothers already had done it. However, he was not sure which surgery between lasik and lasek would be good for him although his eye condition was good to go for both based on the result of eye exam which can figure out if you are a right candidate for laser eye surgery. So he could pick either lasik or lasek. He was, however, told before that cornea flap after lasik surgery could be moved by external shocks and that is why he was going to get lasek surgery. So we explained the rare possibility of his concern and after all, he decided to have lasik surgery and of course he could have had lasek surgery as well.

Our doctors never push a certain surgery like expensive surgery, we just give them all information which could help patients to decide for their valuable eyes.

The surgery was successful and now his vision is really good, and he will probably get 20/20 vision in several months.

I would like to introduce all the process for Lasik surgery that he got at our hospital since he agreed to post his pictures on our blog. Once more I would like to thank Matthew to allow us to use his pictures :)

Eye Exam which takes normally one and a half hours and it is most important process before the doctor perform a laser surgery such as lasik or lasek surgery to make sure if he is a right candidate for the surgery.

Please understand that I am not a professional photographer and these below are part of lasik process. There is some missing parts as I couldn't take pictures of all process. :)

<Detailed Eey Exam>

1. Eye exam for lasik and lasek,  this is a test for myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism.

2. Eye exam for lasik and lasek, Intraocular pressure test or simply eye pressure test.

3. Eye Exam for lasik and lasek, This is the test for checking his retina and optic nerve.

4. Eye Exam for lasik and lasek, Vision Test.

5. Eye Exam for lasik and lasek, this is an ultrasound(ultrasonography) test for your cornea thickness.

6. Eye exam for lasik and lasek, this is the test for checking the amount of tears

< Free Consultation for choosing a way for laser surgery based on the result of the eye exam >

After all, he decided to have Z2 lasik surgery!

< Lasik Laser Surgery Process >

1. He is waiting for the surgery wearing a sanitation patient gown at the surgery waiting room.

2. In the surgery room, he is getting ready for the Z2 lasik surgery.

3. After the lasik surgery, he is relaxing at a recovery room closing his eyes.

4. A specialist is giving him eye drops after certain time and he is staying there for few minutes more.

5. After the surgery, the doctor is checking the lasik surgery result, and he is giving him some cautions.

And he is coming to our hospital Saturday coming to have a regular check after the lasik surgery. I was told from him that his vision was good and he was really happy with the surgery result. I have been really glad to hear it :)

Should you have any inquiry about laser eye surgery such as lasik, lasek and ICL or just eye test and such, please don't hesitate to contact me. You with any question will be welcomed!!! Most importantly, our hospital including me will treat you like our friend and family!!!

Durree from Mongol, Z4 lasik at Kangnam Joeunnun International Eye Center in Seoul, Korea

She got an eye surgery, Z4 which is one of the most updated ways for laser eye surgery. She is working here in Korea as a researcher, but she is going to leave Korea in several months. Thats why she decided to check all the process for laser eye surgery here in Korea. She knew our hospital from one of our patients who had a same surgery last month. I remember him who visited Korea just for a couple of days, and he decided to have lasik surgery after the consultation with the result of the detailed eye exam.

This is the lasik surgery they got at the Kangnam Joeunnun International Eye Center in Seoul, Korea.

For the reference, femtosecond laser is to make a flap of the cornea and excimer laser is designed to fix refrative errors such as myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism. The surgical equipments, Z4 and Amaris 750, for lasik surgery are most updated and well known equipments.

I did my best to help her to find best ways, not only the way of surgery but also reasonable price for it, to fix her vision. And I am glad to see her enjoying her life without wearing glasses or contact lens.

Hey Duuree! Should you have any inquiry do not hesitate to contact me. I will be happy to help you!

Diana from Kazakhstan, lasik at kangnam joeunnun international eye center in seoul

Diana from Kazakhstan, she had lasik surgery at our hospital. She was really prudent for getting eye surgery because laser eye surgery is not popular and common in her country as much as Korea. When she fist time visited our hospital she looked like unsure to do lasik or lasek surgery. I, however, explained what is really important and what she should know about laser eye surgery such as lasik and lasek before she decided to have eye surgery. After all,  I got an text from her friend, Mino who have had lasik surgery at our hospital, she would get the lasik surgery.

And today, she visited the hospital with her friends to lastly check her eyes before she leave Korea. Undoubtedly Her eyes are in good condition and her vision is almost 20/20. I am really glad to see her satisfied with the result of lasik surgery.

Hey~ Diana! Do not hesitate to contact me anytime when you have any inquiry about your eyes or just casually!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are some tips for visitors on my blog about lasik or lasek laser surgery.

1. Check your eye condition first!
It is most important process before you have laser eye surgery to make sure if you are a right candidate for the surgery. Some people can not get lasik or lasek surgery if they have too thin and irregular cornea and so on. So not everyone is available for lasik or lasek surgery. And a doctor should know about your detailed eye condition before the doctor perform lasik or lasek surgery so as to make sure the surgery will not cause any bad effect on your eyes.

2. Take off your contact lens before the eye exam!
You need to take your contact lens off at least one week before the detailed eye exam to make your cornea back to its original shape so that hospital crew get your exact eye conditions through the test.
※If you wear hard contact lens then you need to take off it two weeks before the eye exam.

3. Use eye drops carefully prescribed by the surgeon including artificial eye drops!
You will feel uncomfortable for a while after the surgery according to which surgery you have between lasik or lasek surgery. Normally you will feel much better the day after the lasik surgery but you might feel uncomfortable for a couple of days after the lasek surgery as the surgeon completely removes the extremely thin outer layer of your cornea(epithelium). However, a new epithelial layer grows back within five days. You will need to use antibiotic and steroid eye drops including artificial eye drop after the surgery to help healing process on your eyes.

Connie from USA, lasik at kangnam joeunnun international eye center

When I met her, Connie, she was shy to speak with me, and I felt she was not sure about our hospital and me for her eye surgery. So I spent sometime to let her know about our hospital and me then she seemed like more comfortable with me. And she started to talk about what is most inconvenient thing in her life. Guess what? That is wearing glasses or contact lens when she wake up in the morning so she really wanted to get rid of the glasses and contact lens in her life. Based on the detailed eye exam, she had a myopia, but she had a good shape of eyes and thick cornea, so she could pick one either lasik or lasek to fix her myopia.

After all, she picked Lasik surgery, Crystal lasik whick is a femtosecond laser. It is a good and proven surgical equipment to make a precise flap of the cornea.

Actually, she cried while doing the lasik surgery even though the surgery finished in 10 minutes as she got scared. And she was little bit grough right after the lasik surgery. However, she was really satisfied with the result on the day after the lasik surgery. Not only her feeling for the result of lasik, but also she has perfect vision now like 20/20 based on the eye test on the day after lasik surgery.

Hey~ Connie! I am really glad to see you satisfied with the result of lasik surgery I did. Enjoy the new world without wearing the glasses or contact lens!!!
